Midwest Fashion Week ~Catou Couture

Catou Couture head designer Berny Martin , is a Midwestern fashion designer, but hails originally from Haiti  with a global vision for the fashion industry. Catou Couture named after his Grandmother serves as a tribute to her, all that she inspired and encouraged him to do. Berny told me that his designs are a combination of diversity, elegance, and sophistication. "My latest collection is about having fun and being sophiticated" Berny is also the founder of Midwest Fashion Week which is now in its third season "Once the celebration of tonight is over we go right back to work preparing and planning for the fall show's"  Being a native of Haiti it was only fitting that he end his show cruising down the runway with the Haitian flag drapped across the front. The collection and show were nothing less than amazing! I say bravo to Midwest Fashion Week!

Midwest Fashion Week ~ Sachika

SACHIKA in Japanese means: “more wishes, more fortune, and more happiness.” Identical Twin Designers from New York City To-Tam and To-Nya Ton-Nu were so excited to bring their fashions to the Midwest. The Twins explained their label is about "taking the woman from day to evening in an effort of saving her the time of going home and changing."  The Twins, as everyone refers to them, told me that their designs are meant to compliment the woman and her feminine shape, while allowing her to feel both sexy and comfortable at the same time.  Sachika also presented some Menswear on the runway last night - here are a few pics from the runway

Midwest Fashion Week ~ Replica by Sharon Evans

What a night for bold and bright color - Sharon Evans head designer for Replica showed a fantastic collection last night! Sharon designs dresses for all occasions including cocktail parties, proms and wedding events. 

Erica Maze who is currently interning with Sharon was able to show three of her pieces on the runway last night as well "I take t-shirts and deconstruct them, I apply embellishments and other fun textures to make fun and playful designs paired with statement pieces."  Erica's company is called EMAZ'N Dress Design. If you need more information please contact Erica at emazndesigns@gmail.com
