Fashion Wrap Up Remembering The One and Only King of Pop ~ Michael Jackson
Here are a few of our favorite memories...
The King of Pop shows off his record-breaking eight Grammy Awards – including album of the year for Thriller and record of the year for "Beat It" – at the '84 ceremony.
"Well, isn't this a thriller?" President Ronald Reagan joked before presenting The King of Pop with the Presidential Public Safety Commendation Award in 1984. Jackson received the honor for granting the use of his hit single, "Beat It," in a campaign against teen drunken driving. A humbled Jackson merely said, "I'm very, very honored. Thank you very much, Mr. President and Mrs. Reagan."
What a pair - The Material Girl herself and the King of Pop at the Oscars in 1991creating a worldwide paparazzi frenzy. Madonna was decked out in a Bob Mackie gown and $20 million in diamonds! This appearance sent the tongues a wagging however they were just friends.
SUPER BOWL SUPRISE
In what remains one of the most talked-about halftime performances of all time, Jackson took the stage during the 1993 Super Bowl. After Performing "Jam" he took of his trademark military jacket and broke out in a medley of his hits "Billie Jean" and "Black or White" – and this was the final shot - what a moment.
