4th Annual Charity Race Party and Fashion Show~

The scene was set at the Mansion on Kessler Blvd in Indianapolis on August 27th for the 4th Annual Charity Race Party and Fashion Show.  I love to attend these types of events, and especially events that combine two of my favorite things ~ fashion and charity! This year the hosts of the event picked three great causes ~ the Indianapolis Humane Society, Bob Barker’s Whale Wars, and the Circle City Chamber Group.

I applaud anyone who can put on an event of this magnitude and especially invite hundreds of people into one's home! The event had all the makings of a huge Hollywood production including a fire performer and an aerialist.  I am not quite sure how to describe it, however I was impressed with the performance it looked simply stunning with the backdrop of the starry night sky. The aerialist that performed showcased the art of fluid motion in space, yet this dramatic performance evoked feelings like that of Cirque du Soleil.

The Fashion Show was a highlight of the evening featuring Nikki Blaine Couture, B.E. Humble and a swimwear line that showcased a collection which can be viewed at www.bikiniwear.com.  Nikki Blaine always impresses with her shows.  Her work gets better and better each time!  The fresh, flirty designs that Brittany Humble creates are nothing short of amazing! The show was produced and executed by Zoe Renee Huse and her Fashion Team, each ensemble was styled with local jewelry lines Cheeky Couture and Statement Jewels. The models wore black bob style wigs and all were impressive on the runway! I have to say these models were some of the better models I have seen walk the catwalk this summer! I think that says a lot about how far the fashion scene has developed here since March!

All in all it was nice evening to be with my friends, as well as to meet an abundance of extremely nice people and some rather stylish people as well! My only suggestion is for the bartenders.  When you are hired to work an event and the host/hostesses trusts you to take care of their guests I would suggest you not filling up the glasses with 3/4 of liquor and a splash of soda or tonic. Honestly, it made me feel like I was at a fraternity house!  In the words of Ron Burgundy from Anchorman, "Keep it classy Indianapolis."
